A touch of surrealism in the Swiss countryside. Specialist metal processor Stahlkontor, based in Hagen, Germany, supplies parts for the spectacular façade of a new luxury hotel in Davos.

The Swiss spa town and ski resort of Davos will soon be able to boast a new extravagant eye-catching sight. The oval shaped, 42 meter-high central building of the new five-star InterContinental Davos Resort & Spa hotel with its shimmering cladding based on a design by Munich planning agency Oikos is a surreal focal point in the Graubünden landscape.

The façade is composed of steel sheets that are wrapped around the main body of the building in a wave-like construction. Cut with a laser beam, these blanks for the façade elements are delivered by Stahlkontor.
